My approach
I draw from a wide array of evidence-based, depth-oriented frameworks, and interpersonal processes that cultivate a holistic, relational, and trauma-informed therapeutic container.
As your therapist, I aim to be a trusted confidant and ally on this path of learning and growing. I will provide you with an environment of deep presence and welcoming where you can experience both: being fully supported and lovingly challenged.
ROOTED IN
SELF-INQUIRY
A framework for questioning one's underlying assumptions, stories, and beliefs about Life - especially the ones that cause stress.
Self-inquiry is used in evidence-based CBT interventions, as well as spiritual and philosophical traditions, such as Advaita Vedanta, Zen Buddhism, and the modern-day practice called "The Work" of Byron Katie.
INTERPERSONAL PROCESS
Utilizing what is happening in the ‘here-and-now’ is a tremendously rich and potent source of information for self-awareness.
Patterns from early childhood experiences, attachment wounds, unconscious habits and assumptions, and projections of all kinds can be met, explored, and processed within the therapist-client relationship. This type of work often allows for corrective emotional experiences, deep relational healing, and secure functioning to take hold.
PARTS WORK
A relational approach based on the concept of the ‘multiplicity of mind,’ which recognizes that we are made up of various internal parts, each with their own beliefs, feelings, and roles.
These parts can sometimes be in conflict with one another or stuck in extreme protection responses to shield us from pain. Thus, they are incredibly impactful to work with in a therapeutic context.
RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
I’m a huge proponent of providing my clients with skills and tools inside and outside of session that strengthen their emotional intelligence, ability to effectively communicate, and clearly conceptualize their internal and external struggles.
This includes the principles of non-violent communication, Attachment theory, PACT, Internal Family Systems, Trauma-informed nervous system regulation techniques, and Mindfulness practice.
DEPTH PSYCHOLOGY
Acknowledges that there are archetypal patterns that underpin the natural world and our own human nature. Through engaging in the language of dream, imagination, myth, and symbol we can contend with these hidden forces that shape our lives.
As Carl Jung famously said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.”
ENERGETICS & SOMATICS
There is so much of life the extends beyond what our words and intellect can capture. Which is why I encourage clients to utilize the wisdom of their somatic experience, energetic system, and intuitive capacities.
Cultivating our sensitivity in these arenas cultivates our ability to hold the nuances of relating, to deepen our curiosity with ourselves, with others, and the world around us, and to meet each moment with greater specificity and attunement.
Human connection is a fundamental ingredient in healing.
Studies suggest that the therapeutic relationship is one of — if not — the most critical factor in successful therapeutic outcomes, often outweighing the specific modality or technique being used.
